I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Happy New Year and let you know about some recent positive changes and developments here at The Weston Group. We were very busy throughout 2009 and despite challenging trading conditions still managed an element of growth. As part of our strategy to improve service and invest in our staff, we took advantage during some of the quieter days to implement and accelerate our training plan in Telecoms, Mobiles & IT. With the formation of our Building Services Division, in January 2009, additions to our sales team, and the appointment of Mike Isherwood as our new General Manager, we actually saw an 18% increase in the size of our team overall which now stands at 50.
We have agreed our strategic business plans for 2010 and these are being phased in across the business as the weeks roll by. One important change is that we will be operating as one legal entity from the 1st January 2010 – Weston Communications Limited. As many of you will know our Networks division operated as a separate company, but as we continue to grow and move forward we have taken the decision to simplify our organisational and financial structure to eliminate many inefficiencies associated with operating as two separate businesses. An indirect effect of these changes has seen Craig Owens, the Sales Director from the Networks division move on to pastures new. However, you can be assured that it is very much business as usual and that one of our key account managers, either Vanessa Barker or Andy Payne will be in touch very soon (if they haven’t already) if your account was previously managed by Craig.
This new year will also see investment in an all new Helpdesk Software Support Package which is currently undergoing testing internally and should be fully deployed and operational within the next two months. This will improve efficiency of our Helpdesk team and also help with scheduling of work. We are also strengthening our portfolio by further developing our relationships with the likes of Microsoft, Cisco & HP. We are continuing with our long term commitment with Aastra to offer a sound, feature rich voice platform for the communications needs of customers well into the future extending far beyond just VoIP. Microsoft products such as Windows 7, Office Communication Server (OCS) R2, Windows Server 2008 and Exchange 2010 will feature heavily in our sales campaigns over the next 12 months and beyond. Finally, our all new website is due to go live within the first quarter of this year.
So as you can see it is very much business as usual and all of my team remain committed to delivering the best possible solutions to you. I would just like to finish by thanking you for your continued support and invite you to provide me with any feedback which I could use to further improve our levels of customer service.
Yours sincerely Darren Weston Managing Director The Weston Group
